Microsoft Entra ID, formerly Azure Active Directory, is Microsoft’s cloud-based identity and access management service. Codaone integrates Magento stores with Entra ID so users can sign in with their organisation’s Microsoft accounts without separate passwords. Single sign-on (SSO) can be used, for example, for store administrators or B2B customer users.
Users sign in with the same Microsoft account they use for other work tools, with no separate password for the store.
When a user is removed or their permissions change in Entra ID, the change can also apply to their store access.
Policies defined in Entra ID, such as multi-factor authentication, can also apply to signing in to Magento.
Business customers’ employees can sign in to the store with their own organisation’s credentials when the solution is built for it.
An Entra ID integration makes Magento sign-in part of the organisation’s centralised identity management. There are fewer passwords, access rights are easier to manage and security policies stay consistent. The scope depends on who the single sign-on is meant to serve.
